Go Red for Women Luncheon
Wednesday, February 8th

The 9th Annual Spokane Go Red for Women Luncheon will be held on February 8 from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Spokane Convention Center (334 W. Spokane Falls Boulevard). The luncheon creates an energetic and informative atmosphere that encourages women to become champions of their own health. Julie Clark, an award-winning author, professional speaker, life fulfillment and success coach, and beloved founder of The Inspirational Coffee Club, will be the keynote speaker for the event. Avista to Host Energy Fair in Spokane
Wednesday, February 8th

Avista will be hosting an Energy Fair in Spokane at the Northeast Community Center (4011 N. Cook Street) on February 8 from 3-6 p.m. This event will provide information on energy efficiency, weatherization and bill assistance. It will also be filled with demonstrations on ways to keep homes warm and safe this winter. Avista employees will be available to share information about billing assistance and payment options. Free admission to the event includes all demonstrations, free samples of energy efficiency materials, complimentary food and beverages, and door prizes. Fair attendees will see how to install such things as rope caulk, window plastic and door sweeps. For the kids, and the kids at heart, Wattson, Avista’s Energy Watchdog, will guide attendees through fun, energy-focused crafts and presentations of his musical message of energy efficiency and safety. Avista Utilities will make every effort to provide reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities. GSI's PTAC Introduction to Government Contracting

This seminar is designed to give you the tools to begin the process. That's why the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) of Greater Spokane Incorporated is here - to help you do business with the government. A general overview of how the federal, state and local government buys goods and services, and the seven phases of government procurement will be discussed. This event is presented at no charge by your Eastern Washington PTAC and will be held at the SRBC (801 W. Good Morning Greater Spokane

Women's Boxing at Northern Quest

Boxing fans will have a chance to witness history at the first-ever U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Women’s Boxing, and tickets for the inaugural event are available now. The nation’s top 24 female boxers will face off at the Pend Oreille Pavilion at the Northern Quest Resort (100 N. Hayford Road) on February 13-18. The action will kick off nightly at 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night. Liberty Lake Advisory Group

All members and prospective members are welcome to come and hear from Dennis Barts with Valley Hospital and Medical Center as he discusses how they serve the Liberty Lake area and his long-term plan for the hospital. There is no fee to attend. They will be meeting at the Liberty Lake Library (23123 E. Mission Avenue) on February 14 from 7:30-9 a.m.

Spokane Potters' Guild Annual Chili Feed Fundraiser
Saturday, February 25th

The Spokane Potter’s Guild will be having a chili feed on February 25 at the Corbin Senior Activity Center (827 W. Cleveland Avenue) from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. For just $12, you get to pick from over 300 handmade pottery bowls, then take it to our cooks, who will fill it up with all the chili and fixin's you can eat! The best part is you get to take the bowl home. There will be $5 bowls available for children 8 and younger.

Walk MS 2012
Saturday, April 21st   through   Saturday, April 28th

During the month of April communities come together in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho to join the Inland Northwest Chapter of the National MS Society with the goal to raise money and support for friends and families touched by Multiple Sclerosis. The Inland Northwest Chapter hosts a Walk MS event at Spokane Falls Community College on April 21, at 1:00 p.m. and at Confluence State Park (Coeur d’Alene) on April 28, at 10:00 a.m. Please register for Walk MS by visiting, www.walkMSnorthwest.org or by calling, 509-482-2022.

Community Fun Run

The Inclusion Network, The Arc of Spokane and Washington Parks Department are sponsoring a community fun run on Saturday, April 21, at 9:00 a.m. It will begin at the Centennial Trail near CenterPlace and will proceed along the Spokane River for 1.5 k. Mother's Day Tea
